Drug peddler arrested in Sopore with contraband substance

Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, police have arrested a drug peddler in Sopore and recovered contraband substance from his possession.

A police party of Police Station Panzla headed by SHO PS Panzla under the supervision of SDPO Rafiabad Dr Hilal Ahmad Hilal at a checkpoint at Rohama intercepted a suspicious person. During the search, 50 grams of charas-like substance were recovered from his possession. He has been identified as Ghulam Nabi Malla, resident of Rohama. He has been arrested and shifted to the police station where he remains in custody.

Accordingly, a case vide FIR No 17/2024 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Panzla and further investigation has been initiated.
