Drug peddler arrested in Shopian: Police

Srinagar, May 17: Police in Shopian have arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substances from his possession.

A Police team from Police Post Reshnagri, at a checkpoint established at Pundhaan arrested a drug peddler identified as Aadil Ahmad Ahanger, son of Bashir Ahmad Ahanger, resident of Muradpora Shopian, said police.

During search, 80 grams of charas like substance was recovered from his possession. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 18/2025 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Heerpora and investigation has been initiated. “We urge all the citizens to join hands with the police in our ant-narcotics drive,” it said.
