Drug peddler arrested in Reasi
Ramban, Nov 20: Reasi police detained a notorious drug peddler under PITNDPS and lodged him in Central Jail Kot Bhalwal, Jammu today.
Police said , Parkash Singh @ Mana, (39),Mohan Singh resident of Gran Morh Kattal, Tehsil and District Reasi who is involved in case FIR No. 166/2019 U/S 8/15/20 NDPS Act of Police Station Reasi, case FIR No. 275/2022 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act of Police Station Reasi and case FIR No. 54/2024 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act of Police Station Reasi was detained under PITNDPS Act under the order No. 43 of 2024 dated 19-11-2024, issued by Divisional Commissioner, Jammu.
Police said besides booking Parkash Singh under NDPS Act a number of times he was warned to shun the path of supplying drugs to the youth of Reasi. However he remained on a continuous mission of minting money by supplying banned drugs to the youth of Reasi.
They said in view of his continuous involvement in drug peddling and to save the health and welfare of the society it was necessary to book him under stringent law.
On the directions of SSP, Paramvir Singh a dossier for PSA (PITNDPS) was prepared and after getting necessary detention orders from Ramesh Kumar, Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Parkash Singh was arrested by the team of Police Station Reasi.
He was lodged in Central Jail Kotbhalwal, Jammu.
SSP Paramveer Singh while sharing the details told Greater Kashmir that Reasi Police is working on multi pronged strategy to deal with the problem of drug abuse, on one hand awareness programs are being organized in every nook and corner of the district and on the other hand drug peddlers are being booked under NDPS Act on regular basis.
He warned drug peddlers shun the path of spoiling our generation otherwise be ready to face the music of law.
