Drug inspection drives conducted in Rajpora, adjoining areas
Srinagar, Aug 04: Drug inspection drives under the supervision of Assistant Drugs Controller Pulwama, Shopian were conducted in Rajpora and adjoining areas.
Teams composed of Drug Control Officer Pulwama and Drug Control Officer Pampore, Tral Awantipora during inspections thoroughly checked the maintenance of records, especially of habit forming drugs. It was observed that uploading of details of drugs on the software has taken a good pace and digitisation of the records is being adopted by medical sale establishments.
An awareness programme was also conducted wherein proprietor, qualified persons of the medical shops were instructed to strictly adhere to the standing directions to ensure transparency and accountability.
This joint inspection is part of the ongoing efforts of the Drug Control Department to monitor medical stores, ensuring the sale of genuine and quality medicines to the public. The drive aims to curb the sale of counterfeit and NRX medicines through an unregulated channel.
Such initiative by the department shall be continued in coming days with increased intensity and frequency of raids in future.
