Drug haul recovery case Chargesheet filed against 12 accused

Ramban, Mar 14:  Ramban Police filed a charge sheet against 12 accused persons including one absconder in a multi crore drug haul recovery case on Thursday.

The charge sheet was presented in the court of special Judge NIA cases, Jammu.
Ramban Police in a statement said that Ramban Police has filed chargesheet against 12 accused persons including an absconder in case FIR No 242/2023 u/s 8/21/22/27-A/29 NDPS Act, 467, 468, 471, 201, 489-C, 120-B, 121, 121-A, 122 IPC 13,18,21,23,38,39,40 UAPA, 4, 5, 6 Explosive substances Act, 3, 7, 25 Arms Act of Police station Banihal relating to recovery of 35 Kg 990 gram Diacetylmorphine (Heroin) last year.

There was recovery of cash amounting to Rs 5, 37, 670000 and subsequent recovery of mobile phones, fake Registration Certificates / Driving License, fake Number plates of vehicles, cash counting machine, Arms/explosive and other incriminating material was also affected.

This case pertains to initial recovery of 31 kgs and 314 grams of Diacetylmorphine (Heroin/Chitta) from two accused persons who were travelling in a innova car bearing registration No HR12CW-4925 and were intercepted by Police Party of Police Station Banihal on 30-09-2023.
