Driver killed as truck rolls back during roadside repair in Kulgam

Srinagar, Feb 08: A truck driver was killed in a tragic accident in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Sunday after his own truck rolled backwards unexpectedly while he was repairing it on the roadside.

Officials said that the truck was parked along NH-44 near the Nipora–Vessu stretch when it suddenly moved backwards and ran over the driver of the same truck, killing him on the spot.

The deceased has been identified as Saqib Mohammad, son of Sadiq Mohammad Bakal, a resident of Udhampur.

Police has taken cognizance of the incident and further investigation is underway. (KNC)
