Driver found dead inside vehicle in Handwara

Kupwara, Mar 4: A load carrier driver was mysteriously found dead inside his vehicle in main town Handwara on Tuesday early morning.

The local public, after realizing that the driver was unresponsive in the vehicle, informed police. Following this, the driver was taken out of the vehicle and rushed to Associated District Hospital GMC Handwara where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

The deceased has been identified as Musharaf Ali, son of Shahab Din from Khutwa, Jammu. Superintendent, Associated District Hospital, GMC Handwara, Dr Aijaz Bhat said that prima facie suggests that the driver had left the car heater on overnight, leading to his suffocation and cause of death. “The actual cause of his death will be determined after the post-mortem report is received”, he added. Police have registered a case in this regard at Police Station Handwara.
