Driver dies of electrocution in Kulgam village

Kulgam, May 10: A driver died after receiving an electric shock at Kounserbal in Damhal Hanjipora area of south Kashmir's Kulgam district on Friday.

The deceased has been identified as Showkat Ahmad Parray, son of Abdul Hameed Parray of Yadder Pulwama.

An official said that Parray came in contact with a live electric wire while loading his dumper with sand.

He said that he died on the spot.

The residents of the area blamed the Power Development Department (PDD) for its failure to remove the low-lying electric wires in the area.
