Driver arrested for illegal transportation of minerals

Sopore, May 12: Acting tough against the persons involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, police have seized 1 vehicle in Sopore.

A Police team of Police Post Bus Stand headed by IC PP Bus Stand initiated the action under the supervision of SDPO Sopore  Sarfaraz Bashir and SHO PS Sopore seized a vehicle (tractor) and arrested a driver, involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals from Nalla Phuroo Seelo, Sopore. The accused driver has been identified as Mushtaq Ahmad Dar,resident of Seelo Sopore.

Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Sopore and investigation has been taken up.

"People are requested not to indulge in any kind of illegal mining activities from any Nallah/river as it is a violation of government rules. Persons found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt as per law," police said.
