Drive held against wrong parking at Karan Nagar

Srinagar, Feb 27: In its effort to ensure smooth movement of ambulances and patients to SMHS Hospital, Traffic Police today launched a drive against wrong parking at Karan Nagar and its adjoining areas.

Acting on complaints against wrong parking of vehicles on roads and lanes leading to SMHS Hospital, several wrongly parked vehicles were seized. “The message is clear that we won’t allow wrong parking of vehicles anywhere, especially on roads leading to hospitals. We will be launching similar drives in other areas to prevent wrong parking,” said SSP Traffic (Srinagar) Muzaffar Ahmad Shah.

The SSP advised commuters to use designated parking slots to park their vehicles. “Commuters have to understand that this road belongs to other people also. We have to understand that blocking the way of ambulances can be detrimental for patients. We will be placing road dividers on roads near Shireen Bagh, Dental College and SMHS Hospital to ensure smooth vehicular movement,” he added.
