Drive against traffic violations intensified by Traffic Police Rural

Srinagar, June 15: To curb the traffic violations, Traffic Police Rural Kashmir has intensified its drive against those involved in the traffic violations.

Traffic officials said that they have intensified the drive against those drivers not obeying the traffic rules and indulging in violations like overloading, driving without seat belts, bikers not wearing helmets and without license.

Senior Superintendent of Police Traffic Rural Kashmir, Ravinder Pal Singh, told Greater Kashmir that the move is aimed to inculcate the traffic discipline and to reduce the accidents.

“The continuous drive is focused on visible offences and maintaining road safety. During this intensified campaign, traffic violators especially bike riders and overloaded vehicles are being challaned.”

He said a similar drive was carried out in Narbal Magam road areas and several challans were filed for traffic violations particularly for overloading and those not wearing seat belts and bikers driving without helmets. A special squad has also been constituted exclusively for the enforcement of traffic rules. Special drives are being conducted in all areas under the jurisdiction of traffic police rural to advise and inform the driver and bike riders to abide by the traffic rules, SSP said. SSP Traffic Rural Kashmir has appealed to the general public that they should not board the overloaded passenger vehicles and inform the concerned Traffic Authority if any passenger vehicle is found indulging in overloading.
