Drinking water shortage hits Nawab Bazar

Srinagar, July 28: Residents of Syed Hamidpora area of Nazab Bazar have complained of acute shortage of drinking water from last over a week.

A delegation from the area said that due to lack of drinking water supply, they face problems amid scorching temperature. “We have many times apprised the concerned PHE authorities about the matter, but they have failed to restore the water supply,” a group of aggrieved residents said.

The residents said they have to fetch water in buckets from adjoining areas. “Our life has become miserable in absence of water supply from pipeline. We make a fervent appeal to Chief Engineer PHE to look into the issue and direct the concerned officials to restore the water supply. Till then tanker service can also be pressed into service,” they added.
