Drinking water shortage hits Mominabad

Srinagar, May 20: Residents of Mominabad area of Batamaloo have expressed concern over the drinking water shortage in the locality from the last five days.

A delegation from the area led by Abdul Rahim said the locality is without tap water supply and locals are facing immense inconvenience. “We have to fetch water in containers in vehicles from adjoining areas in this scorching temperature. We apprised the concerned PHE authorities but the water supply has not been restored,” Rahim said.

“We have learnt that PHE authorities have reduced water supply pressure as a result our locality does not receive tap water supply. We make a fervent appeal to Chief Engineer PHE to look into the matter and direct the concerned officials to restore water supply to our locality at the earliest,” he added.
