Srinagar, Jan 2: The residents of Abdullah Colony at Lawaypora have complained of an acute shortage of drinking water.

“For the past 15 days, we have been without drinking water. Due to this, the situation has become unbearable, especially in harsh winter conditions. The cold makes the lack of water even more unimaginable, yet we continue to endure this crisis with no relief in sight,” said Aijaz Ahmad Bhat, a local.

“We contacted the Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department multiple times, but unfortunately, our efforts have yielded no positive response. We feel neglected and unheard as if we are being treated as subhuman,” he said.

The residents urged the Chief Engineer PHE to look into the matter.
