Drawing, disbursing powers delegated to Superintendents of Bhaderwah, Pulwama jails

Jammu, June 23: The J&K Home Department has delegated “Drawing and Disbursing” powers in favour of Superintendent Jail, District Jail Bhaderwah and Superintendent, Special Jail (Correctional Home), Pulwama.

The powers have been delegated through two separate orders.

“Pursuant to the re-transfer of 46 posts of different categories from District Jail Kupwara to District Jail Bhaderwah vide G O No 222-Home of 2024 dated May 21, 2024, sanction is hereby accorded to the delegation of “Drawing and Disbursing Powers” in favour of “Superintendent Jail, District Jail Bhaderwah”, to operate upon the funds as have been or may be placed at his or her disposal by the competent authority,” read an order issued by Principal Secretary Home, Chandraker Bharti.

Through a separate order, similar powers have been delegated to Superintendent, Special Jail (Correctional Home), Pulwama.

“In terms of G O No 246-F of 1988 dated September 13, 1988 read with G O No 810-JK (GAD) of 2020 dated September 1, 2020, sanction is hereby accorded to the delegation of “Drawing and Disbursing powers” in favour of “Superintendent, Special Jail (Correctional Home), Pulwama”, to operate upon the funds as have been or may be placed at his or her disposal by the competent authority,” the order read.

In both the cases, the concerned officers (Superintendents) have been directed to exercise these powers strictly in accordance to the rules in vogue and government instructions issued from time to time on the subject matter.
