Dr S Jaishankar to visit Netherlands, Denmark and Germany from May 19-24

New Delhi, May 18: External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar will embark on a six-day official visit to the Netherlands, Denmark and Germany from May 19 to 24, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) announced in a press release on Saturday.

According to the MEA, the visit is aimed at strengthening India's strategic and economic ties with the three European nations. “During the visit, EAM will meet the leadership of the three countries and hold discussions with his counterparts on the entire gamut of bilateral relations and regional and global matters of mutual interest,” the statement said.

The visit comes at a time of heightened diplomatic engagement between India and Europe, with key issues such as trade, technology cooperation, climate action, and geopolitical developments likely to feature prominently in Jaishankar’s meetings.

The visit is also just after Operation Sindhoor. While specific bilateral agendas were not detailed in the MEA release, officials noted that the minister’s itinerary includes high-level political consultations as well as interactions with business leaders and members of the Indian diaspora in each country. This tour marks Dr. Jaishankar’s latest outreach to European partners as India continues to expand its global diplomatic footprint and deepen cooperation with like-minded countries on multilateral platforms.
