Dr Farooq, Omar to lead NC in paying floral tributes
Srinagar, Dec 3: National Conference (NC) will observe the 119th birth anniversary of Sher-e-Kashmir Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah on December 5 at his mausoleum at Naseem Bagh in Hazratbal here, a press release said.
“Party President Dr Farooq Abdullah and Vice President and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah will lead the party rank and file in offering floral tributes and Fatiha on the occasion. The commemorative function will commence from 10.30 AM.
Later a majlis of Durood-o-Azkar will be held at the Tasbeeh Khana in the Shrine premises, where party functionaries, workers and people from different walks of life will recite the Holy Quran,” the press release said.
Meanwhile, similar commemorative events will be held at all district headquarters across Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh to mark the 119th birth anniversary of Sher-e-Kashmir. Party functionaries will pay tribute to him, recognizing his significant contributions in shaping the democratic character of the region, the press release added.
