Dr Farooq, Omar, Soz pay tributes to Sofi Ghulam Muhammad

Srinagar, Nov 16: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President and Member of Parliament Dr Farooq Abdullah and Vice President Omar Abdullah Thursday paid tributes to founder of Urdu daily ‘Srinagar Times’ Sofi Ghulam Muhammad on his 14th death anniversary.

Offering tribute to Sofi, Dr Farooq said, “Sofi Sahib called a spade a spade. He was one of the pioneers of Urdu journalism in Kashmir and widely appreciated for his editorials. He was also known for his penchant for Urdu literature.”

Paying tributes to Sofi, NC Vice President Omar Abdullah said, “On his 14th death anniversary, I pay my earnest tributes to him. May Allah grant eternal peace to his soul.”
NC General Secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar, Additional General Secretary Dr Sheikh Mustafa Kamal, Treasurer Shammi Oberoi, Provincial President, Kashmir, Nasir Aslam Wani, Chief Spokesperson Tanvir Sadiq, State spokesman Imran Nabi Dar also paid tributes to Sofi on his death anniversary.

Meantime Party's Chief Spokesperson and Communications head Tanvir Sadiq presided over a commemorative function on the occasion at the party headquarters.
Former Union Minister and Congress leader Prof Saifuddin Soz paid tributes to veteran journalist and founder of Urdu daily ‘Srinagar Times’ Sofi Ghulam Muhammad on his 14th death anniversary.
