Dr Farooq, Omar condole demise of A G Noorani

Srinagar, Aug 31: National Conference President Dr Farooq Abdullah and Vice President Omar Abdullah have expressed profound grief over the demise of scholar, lawyer and political commentator A G Noorani.

In his heartfelt message of condolences, Dr Farooq expressed that it is truly impossible to encapsulate the profound scholarly impact of Noorani, who was not just a person but an institution, a library, and an authoritative source in his own right.

"Noorani's unwavering defense of Sher-e-Kashmir and their subsequent interactions solidified his position as a prominent authority in Kashmir. Noorani's connection to Kashmir extended far beyond his professional obligations;

it was deeply personal to him. His passing is a tremendous loss for Kashmir, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him. May the Almighty grant him the highest stations in Jannat. He will be remembered for his dedication and contributions to the region," he said.

Offering homage to Noorani, Omar said, "Sorry to hear about the demise of A G Noorani sahab. He was a man of letters, an accomplished lawyer, a scholar and a political commentator. He wrote extensively on matters of law and on subjects like Kashmir, RSS and the constitution. May Allah grant him highest place in Jannat."
