Dr Farooq, Omar Abdullah pay glowing tributes to Khawaja Sanaullah Bhat
Srinagar, Nov 24: The J&K National Conference President Dr Farooq Abdullah and Vice President Omar Abdullah on Friday paid rich tributes to Khawaja Sanaullah Bhat Aftab, prominent journalist and the father figure of the vernacular press in Kashmir, on his 14th death anniversary.
In a statement, Dr Farooq Abdullah while paying tributes to the Late Sanaullah Bhat said, “Khwaja Sahib was devoted to objective journalism. A shining star of Kashmir's journalistic history, Khawaja Sahib's several contributions made him a highly respectable person and a journalist who invoked awe and fear among the rulers that be. On his 14th death anniversary I offer him my humble tribute. May Almighty elevate his stations in Jannat.”
Offering tributes to Khawaja Sahib, Omar said, “A leading luminary of our journalistic history, a trendsetter Marhoom Khawaja Sanaullah Bhat Aftab Sahib's contribution in the promotion of Urdu journalism in Kashmir is unparalleled. For half a century, he dominated the journalistic horizon in Kashmir and would be remembered as the most significant chapter of the history of journalism in Kashmir. On his 14th death anniversary offer him my rich tributes. May Allah (SWT) elevate his stations in Jannat.”
Among others General Secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar, Addl General Secretary Dr. Sheikh Mustafa Kamal, Treasurer Shammi Oberoi, Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani Sogami, Chief Spokesperson Tanvir Sadiq, Senior leaders Muhammad Shafi Uri, Choudhary Muhammad Ramzan, Abdul Rahim Rather, Sharief Ud Din Shariq, MY Taing, Peerzada Ahmad Shah, Mian Altaf Ahmad, Mubarak Gul, Shameema Firdous, Sakina Itoo, State Spokesperson Imran Nabi Dar, Party MPs Muhammad Akbar Lone, Hasnain Masoodi have also paid glowing tributes to Khawaja Sahib on his 14th death anniversary.
Meanwhile, Chief patron Jamiat-e- Hamdani Moulana Riyaz Hamdani and Chief spokesperson of the organisation G M Saqi paid rich tributes to Sanaullah and recounted his contribution to development of Urdu journalism in Kashmir.
