Dr Farooq felicitates Choudhary Ramzan on elevation to NC Add’l General Secretary
Srinagar, Jan 1: National Conference President Dr Farooq Abdullah Thursday felicitated Member of Parliament (RS) and senior party leader Choudhary Muhammad Ramzan on his appointment as the Additional General Secretary of the party.
The felicitation ceremony was held at the party headquarters, Nawa-e-Subha. The event was organised by Srinagar District President, Pir Afaq Ahmad and saw the presence of MLA's Shameema Firdous, Salman Ali Sagar, Dr Sajjad Shafi, State Spokesperson Imran Nabi Dar, Provincial Secretary Syed Tauqeer, PP YNC Mir Mushtaq, party leaders, along with members from various wings of the National Conference, said a press release.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Farooq expressed his confidence in Choudhary Muhammad Ramzan’s leadership and experience, which he believes will further strengthen the party’s mission and vision in J&K.
"Choudhary Muhammad Ramzan has been a dedicated and long-standing member of our party, and his new role as Additional General Secretary will play a pivotal role in guiding J&K National Conference as we continue our efforts towards serving the people of Jammu and Kashmir," he said.
In his address, Choudhary Ramzan thanked the party leadership for entrusting him with this significant responsibility and assured that he would work diligently to uphold the values of the National Conference and contribute to the party’s progress. Later speaking with reporters, Ramzan said CM Omar Abdullah will soon meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah, adding that party MP Aga Ruhullah is neither against the party nor its leadership. He said a memorandum of demands has already been submitted to the Union Home Minister, who has assured that the issues raised will be addressed. “The Home Minister has given an assurance, and the Chief Minister will meet him soon to discuss other related matters,” he told reporters.
