Dr Farooq, CM Omar pay tributes to Khwaja Sanaullah Bhat on his death anniversary

Srinagar, Nov 24: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President Dr Farooq Abdullah and Vice President & Chief Minister Omar Abdullah Monday paid rich tributes to veteran journalist and father figure of Kashmiri journalism, Khwaja Sanaullah Bhat, on his 16th death anniversary.

Paying homage to the late Sanaullah Bhat, Dr. Farooq Abdullah said, “Khwaja Sahib was a pioneer of objective journalism, introducing street sales of newspapers. A true trendsetter, he never wavered in his commitment to truth and human values. His daily column in the Aftab newspaper, ‘Khazar Souchta Hai Wular Kay Kinaray’, addressed numerous societal issues. I offer my heartfelt tributes to him and pray that the Almighty elevates his status in Jannat.”

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah described Khwaja Sanaullah Bhat as one of the trailblazers of journalism in Kashmir. “Khwaja Sahib’s contributions to journalism will continue to serve as a guiding light for future generations,” he said, offering prayers for his soul to rest in the highest realms of Jannat.

Among others, the party’s General Secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar, Advisor to the CM Nasir Aslam Wani, Chief Spokesperson Tanvir Sadiq, State Spokesperson Imran Nabi Dar, Provincial President Showkat Mir, and the Social Media & Media Cell functionaries also paid glowing tributes to Khwaja Sanaullah Bhat and prayed for eternal peace to his soul in the highest echelons of Jannat.
