Dr Farooq, CM Omar greet people on Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s Jayanti
Srinagar, Nov 4: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President Dr Farooq Abdullah and Vice President and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah have extended greetings to the people on the occasion of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj’s Jayanti (Guru Purab).
In a press release, Dr Farooq said that Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj stood firmly against the evils of caste discrimination and religious intolerance, championing the cause of the oppressed and underprivileged.
“I extend my heartfelt greetings to all, especially to our Sikh brethren, on the sacred occasion of Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s birth anniversary. May this day foster peace, harmony, and brotherhood across Jammu and Kashmir and further strengthen the bonds of unity and compassion,” he said.
Party Vice President and CM Omar Abdullah said, “Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s timeless teachings on living an honest, truthful, and virtuous life continue to guide humanity. His message inspires us to uphold equality, kindness, and compassion. Wishing everyone a very Happy Guru Purab.”
General Secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar, Party Treasurer and MP elect Shammi Oberoi, Provincial President Showkat Mir, Chief Spokesperson Tanvir Sadiq, and Minority Wing Convenor Jagdish Singh Azad have also extended their greetings.
