Dr Farooq, CM Omar condole passing of veteran theatre artist Pandit Shadi Lal Tickoo
Srinagar, Sep 9: The President of Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Dr. Farooq Abdullah, and Vice President and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah have expressed sorrow over the passing of veteran theatre artist, producer, and director, Pandit Shadi Lal Tickoo Ji.
In their condolence message, the duo said that the late Pandit Tickoo leaves behind a legacy marked by creativity, commitment, and compassion.
They lauded his significant contribution to the cultural and theatrical heritage of Jammu and Kashmir, stating that his work will continue to inspire future generations. The duo extended their sympathies to the bereaved family and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul, said a press release. Meanwhile, the party’s Provincial President Kashmir Showkat Ahmad Mir, presided over a condolence meeting held at the party headquarters, Nawa-e-Subha, Srinagar. The meeting saw party leaders and cultural figures come together to pay rich tributes to the late artist. Among others present on the occasion were Syed Tawqeer, JS Azad, and Amit Koul, who fondly remembered Tickoo Ji’s contributions and offered condolences to his family.
