Srinagar, Oct 31: National Conference (NC) President Dr Farooq Abdullah and Apni Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari have greeted people on the auspicious occasion of Diwali.

They expressed hope that the festival will be celebrated with traditional harmony, enthusiasm, and brotherhood.

In his message, Dr Farooq wished prosperity to the region and happiness to its people. He emphasised the importance of celebrating festivals in an atmosphere of unity and brotherhood, calling for the strengthening of this cherished tradition.

“Such festivals serve as a testament to the cultural diversity and richness of Jammu and Kashmir. I believe that this day will bring about increased peace and prosperity to the region and the world at large. I extend my best wishes for a joyous Diwali and encourage everyone to share their happiness with those less fortunate,” he said.

Apni Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari on Thursday extended greetings to the people of Jammu and Kashmir on the eve of the Diwali festival.

In his felicitation message, Bukhari said, “I extend my greetings to the people of Jammu and Kashmir, particularly our Hindu brethren, on the revered occasion of Diwali, the festival of joy and happiness. This festival, also known as the Festival of Lights, symbolises the victory of light over darkness and good over evil.”

“May this precious occasion bring joy and happiness to everyone in J&K and beyond, and may this Diwali strengthen the bonds of brotherhood and communal harmony among all,” he prayed.
