Srinagar, Nov 5: Delhi Public School (DPS), Srinagar, registered an impressive performance at the 31st Sub-Junior and Senior National Thang Ta Championship 2025 held in Goa, clinching one gold, two silver, and one bronze medal.

As per a statement issued on Wednesday, in a powerful display of skill, discipline, and competitive spirit, our athletes brought immense laurels to the school. “The prestigious event, held in Goa from the 28th to the 30th of October, saw our students competing against a formidable field from 26 states across India. Their exceptional performance culminated in an impressive medal tally of one gold, two silver, and one bronze,” the statement said.

Leading our contingent with a phenomenal victory, Farjumand Riyaz of Class 6th A secured the coveted gold medal in the sub-junior girls' 25 kg category. She clinched the title after a decisive and commanding final bout against her opponent from Maharashtra.

Our team's success was magnificently supported by two silver medallists. Zynah Sartaj Mantoo (Class 7th H) demonstrated incredible tenacity in the sub-junior girls' 37kg category, winning three successive matches before a closely contested final against Bihar. Seerat Fatima (Class 6th G) also displayed outstanding prowess, earning her silver in the sub-junior girls' 52 kg category after two strong victories and a hard-fought final against Assam.

Adding to our impressive tally, Tabin Peerzada of Class 4th B secured a well-deserved BRONZE medal in the sub-junior boys' 25 kg category. He showcased significant promise by winning two bouts before a narrow loss in the semi-finals.

We also extend our heartfelt commendation to all our participants, including Onizah Qadri (12th H), Noorain Wani (7th G), Khadija Arfat (6th I), Arhan Ashraf (6th G), and Arsh Bhat (7th B). Their exceptional performances and dedication contributed significantly to our team's strong standing.

Praising the students, our esteemed Principal, Shafaq Afshan, remarked, "Our students have once again demonstrated that with discipline and determination, there is no limit to what they can achieve.
