Srinagar, Oct 3: Bringing laurels to Jammu and Kashmir, Mysha Bilal Kanth, a class 10 student of Delhi Public School (DPS) Srinagar, clinched a silver medal at the 3rd Asian Junior Pencak Silat Championship held from September 25 to 30 at the Sher-i-Kashmir Indoor Sports Complex, Srinagar.

As per a statement, the championship witnessed the participation of over 300 athletes from 11 Asian nations—India, Indonesia, the Philippines, Vietnam, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Kazakhstan. Young martial artists showcased remarkable skill, discipline, and sportsmanship, making this edition one of the most memorable in the tournament’s history.

Mysha, who trains at the J&K Sports Council Stadium, Illahibagh, Buchpora, impressed with her skill and determination throughout the competition, eventually securing the podium finish in a highly competitive field.

Her achievement has been hailed as a proud moment for the J&K, inspiring young athletes, especially girls, to take up martial arts and represent the region on bigger platforms.
