Srinagar, Nov 14: Srinagar DPS Martial Arts team delivered another spectacular performance, achieving a remarkable victory at the J&K UT Thang Ta Championship 2025. The prestigious event was held from November 9-11 at the Polo Ground Indoor Stadium, Srinagar, where students showcased exceptional skill and competitive spirit.

Among 550 athletes from various districts of J&K, DPS Srinagar team’s performance was outstanding. Out of 17 student participants from DPS Srinagar, an incredible 14 secured medals, demonstrating the depth of talent and quality of training at the school.

The final impressive tally stands at 7 Gold Medals, 5 Silver Medals, and 2 Bronze Medals.

The Gold Medalists include: Onizah Qadri (12th H1), Aaminah Irfan (12th S1), Munaza Aira (9th G), Farjumand Riyaz (6th A), Zynah Sartaj Mantoo (7th H), Arsh Bhat (7th B), and Tabin Peerzada (4th B).

Those bagged Silver include Fatima Irfan (11th S4), Noorain Wani (7th G), Khadija Arafat (6th I), Syeda Zainab (6th F), and Trisha Sethi (6th A).

The Bronze medalists incude Arbain Ashraf (9th E), and Seerat Fatima (6th G); while as Aleena Malik (7th A), Syed Aisha (7th C), and Palkit Kour Mehta (6th B) also contributed to the team.

Chairman, Vijay Dhar, congratulated the students, saying, “What a dominant performance! Our students have proven their mettle and brought great honour to the school. This victory is a shining example of the dedication of our students and their coaches. Heartiest congratulations to the entire team.”

Principal, Shafaq Afshan expressed glad over this remarkable feat. “This is a staggering achievement. To have 14 out of 17 students on the podium in a UT-level championship is a testament to their exceptional hard work, discipline, and the warrior spirit Thang Ta instills. We are immensely proud of every single one of them,” she said.
