DPS Srinagar alumnus awarded Rhodes Scholarship 2026
Srinagar, Dec 10: Taif Altaf, an alumnus of Delhi Public School (DPS) Srinagar, batch 2021 has been selected as one of six Indian recipients of the prestigious Rhodes Scholarship for 2026, following an exceptionally competitive national selection process.
Taif will undertake fully funded postgraduate study at the University of Oxford, where he will pursue higher studies concerning questions of access to justice, due process, and the structural challenges that shape public engagement with the law in India. His research intends to contribute to evidence-based legal reform and improved justice delivery, with the specific goal of providing policy-based recommendations for enhancing India’s emergency legal frameworks.
Expressing gratitude for this achievement, Taif acknowledged the academic foundations that informed his journey. “My formative years at DPS Srinagar encouraged me to read widely, to question confidently, and to think beyond conventional frames. I remain deeply grateful to my teachers and the school community for nurturing that early sense of curiosity,” he said.
Taif’s father, Altaf Ahmed Lone, expressed pride in his accomplishment and credited Delhi Public School, Srinagar, as a formative influence that shaped his academic abilities and personal discipline.
