DPAP fields Qaisar Sultan from Ganderbal
Ganderbal, Aug 30: The Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) has fielded local youth leader Qaisar Sultan from the Ganderbal assembly constituency.
DPAP recently released a list of its candidates for the assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir where in the name of Qaisar Sultan was announced.
This will be the maiden assembly elections for the party floated by the former chief minister of the erstwhile state of J&K Ghulam Nabi Azad and their candidate from Ganderbal as well.
Qaisar Sultan, a local youth leader hailing from Sherpathri area here who has been a closely associated with the DPAP president Ghulam Nabi Azad for last a decade and become a founding member for the DPAP . Qaisar Sultan was also the district president of the party for Ganderbal. Qaisar is pitted against National Conference vice president and candidate for Ganderbal Omar Abdullah, PDP candidate Bashir Ahmed Mir who have been so far nominated as candidates for ganderbal by their respective parties.
Talking to Greater Kashmir, DPAP leader Qaisar Sultan said that being a local resident he is aware of all the small and large issues in Ganderbal and the purpose of his joining politics and now into the electoral fray is to serve people of Ganderbal. He alleged that the National Conference and PDP being in power neglected critical issues of Ganderbal. “ There is unemployment issue , larger number of educated youth are unemployed and depressed besides there are local issue like major hike in electricity fare, ban on mining in nallah Sindh which is a major source of income for local people,” the DPAP candidate said.
