Dozens of workers from Langate constituency join PDP
Srinagar, Oct 22: Dozens of workers from the National Conference (NC), Awami Ittehad Party (AIP), and People's Conference (PC) from Langate constituency, Kupwara district, joined the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the presence of Party President Mehbooba Mufti at the party headquarters in Srinagar, said a party statement.
The new entrants were accompanied by Advocate Wahid Bashir Mir. Welcoming them into the party fold, Mehbooba expressed hope that their joining would further strengthen the PDP’s mission of safeguarding the rights and dignity of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. The newly joined members expressed their full faith in the leadership and vision of Mehbooba Mufti, affirming their commitment to work for peace, justice, and the welfare of the people under the banner of PDP.
Meanwhile, a delegation of the Jammu and Kashmir Casual Labourers’ Front called on PDP President and former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti at the party headquarters in Srinagar.
The delegation shared their concerns and highlighted the pressing issues faced by daily wagers and casual workers across Jammu and Kashmir. They expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Mehbooba Mufti and the PDP leadership for their unwavering support and for taking a historic step by bringing the Regularisation Bill in the upcoming Assembly session.
The delegation appreciated PDP’s consistent stand for the rights and dignity of daily wagers, terming the initiative a ray of hope for thousands of families who have been serving the government for years without job security, it said.
