Srinagar, April 17: A nomadic family lost their livestock in a lightning strike as they were migrating towards the upper reaches of Pir Panjal.

Mohammad Iqbal, a resident of Treru Moughla in Rajouri district, suffered a major loss after dozens of goats and sheep perished in a lightning strike last night.

The nomadic family was going on seasonal migration towards the upper reaches of Pir Panjal for a temporary stay at Badhaal village of Kotranka sub-division in Rajouri.

In the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday, lightning struck the area in which dozens of livestock of the family perished, causing losses worth lakhs of rupees.
