Double-storey house partially damaged in fire incident at Sopore
Sopore, Mar 3: A double-storey residential house was partially damaged in a fire incident at Siddiq Colony locality of Sopore town in North Kashmir's Baramulla district on Monday evening.
Reports said that the fire broke out in the house of Haji Ghulam Mohammad Moona, son of the late Haji Abdul Ahad Moona, a resident of Noorbagh Siddiq Colony.
The fire partially damaged the structure before it was brought under control. An official also confirmed this fire incident and said that as soon as the fire was reported in the locality, fire tenders, along with police and local residents, launched a joint rescue operation to prevent the flames from spreading to nearby other properties. After extensive efforts, the fire was successfully controlled. However, the upper portion of the house sustained partial damage. The cause of the fire was said to be an electrical short circuit. Fortunately, no casualties or injuries were reported in the incident. Meanwhile, police have taken cognizance of the matter and initiated further investigation.
