Doon School Srinagar extends facilities to underprivileged students, announces Dubai franchise
Srinagar, Oct 04: The students of Al Irshad Educational Trust Shutloo visited Doon School Srinagar where computers were distributed among students. On this occasion, the Trust reiterated its commitment to continue supporting the cause of education both morally and practically.
An interactive discussion was held on prevailing trends in education, particularly the notion that some institutions focus only on scientific and technical knowledge while others remain confined to religious teachings. It was emphasized that a balanced combination of both streams is the need of the hour.
It was reaffirmed that Doon School Srinagar would extend support to underprivileged schools in North and South Kashmir by providing computers and other modern educational facilities. Participants expressed hope that children from areas like Hutloo Rafiabad would benefit from such initiatives, gaining access to facilities such as computer labs and swimming pools, and eventually competing at national and international sporting events.
Chairman, Doon School Srinagar Showkat Ahmed Khan, described the occasion as a blessing from Almighty Allah and appreciated the efforts of Al Irshad Trust. He announced that Doon School would open its playgrounds, computer laboratories, and other facilities for students from poor and marginalized institutions.
He said that Doon School Srinagar invites all underprivileged institutions to make use of our facilities, including sports grounds, science, and computer laboratories. He further revealed that Doon School Srinagar is set to launch its first franchise in Dubai by the end of this year.
Mufti Abdul Rasheed Qasmi, Chairman of Al Irshad Trust, lauded the generosity of Doon School and urged its management to establish more branches across the country. He also praised the school’s role in bridging the educational gap between students from affluent and middle-class backgrounds.
The event was attended by several prominent personalities, including senior KAS officer Mehraj Wani and renowned motivational speaker Syed Tajamul Islam.
