Doon School Srinagar announces 1st international branch in Dubai

Srinagar, Sep 25: In a significant development, Doon School Srinagar announced on Thursday the launch of its international branch in Dubai, which is set to be operational by the end of this year.

Addressing the media, Showket Khan said the school, under the aegis of the Wilmort Foundation Netherlands, decided to open the Dubai branch in line with its global vision.

“Dubai is an international hub connecting Asia, Europe, and Africa. It will give our students and teachers access to a truly diverse learning environment. This step does not replace our Srinagar campus but strengthens it by creating student-exchange opportunities and bringing world-class practices back to Kashmir,” he said.

Khan expressed gratitude to parents, students, and staff, emphasising that the milestone was achieved through collective effort.

“Dubai will be our very first branch. We have no other branches in India, and Doon School Srinagar is not affiliated with any franchise,” he clarified.

He added that the Dubai campus would facilitate student-exchange programmes, allowing learners in Srinagar to gain global exposure without leaving home, while students from Dubai will have the opportunity to visit Kashmir and act as brand ambassadors for the Valley.

“I want to clarify that Doon School Srinagar has no other branch in any part of the Union Territory or the country. Doon simply means ‘valley,’ and merely using the name does not make any school part of Doon School Srinagar,” Khan said.

Regarding future expansion, Khan revealed plans to open branches in north and south Kashmir, assuring that there would be no compromise on educational quality.

Principal Syed Mohammad Ayub Kamili said that for more than a decade, Doon School Srinagar has provided high-quality education and gained international recognition.
