Domino's crosses 2,000 store milestone in India
Srinagar, June 11: Domino's, India's largest quick-service restaurant (QSR) chain, today marked a significant milestone by opening its 2,000th store in the country. The brand celebrated this occasion by launching seven new stores across its seven operating regions nationwide, reaffirming its commitment to accelerated expansion in India.
Domino's Pizza India opened its first store in New Delhi in 1996 and now serves over 200 million pizzas annually through its 2,000 stores spread across 421 cities. While the first 500 stores took over 16 years to establish, the last 500 have been added in just 29 months, highlighting the brand's rapid growth trajectory.
Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, has emerged as an important market for Domino's, with several new stores opening in the city. The company continues to creatively expand its presence across multi-tier cities, including high-street stores, mall outlets, highways, college campuses, and airport terminals, catering to a diverse range of customer occasions.
Over the years, Domino's has not only localized its pizza offerings through innovations like the Paratha pizza but has also customized toppings to suit the local palates of millions of young Indians. The company has steadfastly delivered on its 30-minute delivery promise while offering great taste and value through dine-in and delivery services.
In March 2024, Domino's announced free delivery on all orders above `150, further enhancing its commitment to offering renowned value to customers through its pan-India supply chain and own last-mile infrastructure.
Sameer Khetarpal, CEO & MD of Jubilant FoodWorks Limited, emphasized the brand's commitment to expansion and customer delight, stating, "We are humbled to achieve the milestone of 2,000 stores in India, making us the first QSR in India to cross this mark. We expect to add 180 stores of Domino's in the current financial year."
Celebrating this momentous occasion, Domino's India has also won a prestigious Guinness World Record for the 'Largest Pizza Box Number,' a first for any QSR brand in India.
To thank its customers, Domino's has announced up to Rs 2,000 discount, among other offers, valid from June 11 to June 13, 2024.
