Do not want people going after Muslims and Kashmiris: Pahalgam attack victim’s wife
Srinagar, May 2: The wife of Pahalgam terror attack victim Lt Vinay Narwal’s wife has appealed to the countrymen to not go against Muslims and Kashmiris in the aftermath of Pahalgam terror attack which left 26 people dead.
“We want peace and only peace. Along with justice of course. But we don’t want people to harm Muslims and Kashmiris. Only the people who have wronged him should be punished,” said Himanshi, who was married to Lt Narwal just a week before the April 22 terror attack.
Himanshi and Narwal were on their honeymoon in Pahalgam, when Narwal was shot dead in the terror attack on 22 April. First May was Narwal’s birthday. Narwal would have turned 27 on Thursday.
On that occasion a camp was organized by Karnal-based NGO National Integrated Forum of Artists and Activists (NIFAA). Various speakers spoke highly of the late officer.
Speaking at the blood donation camp Himanshi urged people not to “go after Muslims and Kashmiris”, Himanshi Narwal on Thursday prayed for “peace” while laying emphasis on “justice” for her Naval officer husband, Lt Vinay Narwal, who was gunned down in Pahalgam.
The camp was attended by many, some flew from Delhi and Bangalore, one of the attendees who donated blood at the camp said, “We can only pay our tributes by donating our blood but nobody can fill the space created by his death. The nation will always be grateful to Narwal for his sacrifice.”
Following the Pahalgam terror attack, Kashmiri students and traders have been harasssed and ssaulted in various Indian states following which the Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said he has spoken to his counterparts to ensure the safety of Kashmiris working or studying outside the valley.
