DLSA Srinagar organises awareness programme on consumer protection and cyber laws
Srinagar, Nov 6: In connection with the upcoming National Legal Services Day to be observed on November 9, the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Srinagar, organised an awareness programme on consumer protection and cyber laws at ADR Centre, District Court Complex Srinagar.
The programme was held under the chairmanship of Principal District and Sessions Judge, Srinagar, Tasleem Arief and under the supervision of Sub-Judge and Secretary, DLSA Srinagar, Sajad-ur-Rehman.
The initiative aimed to sensitise the people and Para Legal Volunteers (PLVs) about their rights under the Consumer Protection Act and the legal safeguards available against cyber fraud and online offences.
Panel lawyers of DLSA Srinagar conducted the awareness sessions, highlighting the role of legal services institutions in providing free legal aid to those in need and in promoting access to justice for all.
The programme witnessed active participation of PLVs and the people, who were informed about the mechanisms for filing consumer complaints, preventive measures against cybercrimes, and the availability of assistance through DLSA Srinagar.
The event was part of a series of awareness initiatives being organised in the run-up to National Legal Services Day 2025.
