DLSA Srinagar organises awareness programme
Srinagar, Nov 8: The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Srinagar today organised an awareness programme on Free Legal Aid Services and NALSA Helpline Number 15100 at Vitasta Law College, here.
The programme was organised as part of the week-long series of events focused on raising awareness about free legal aid services in the district in observance of Legal Services Day, to be celebrated on November 9.
The event was held under the guidance of Jaffer Hussain Beg, Chairman DLSA/Principal District and Sessions Judge Srinagar, and under the supervision of Nusrat Ali Hakak, Sub-Judge/ Secretary DLSA Srinagar.
The programme was attended by the chief guest, Nusrat Ali Hakak, Sub-Judge/Secretary DLSA, Srinagar; Dr. Fatima Shah, Assistant Professor, Vitasta Law College, officials, panel lawyers of DLSA Srinagar, Law Students of Vitasta Law College and para-legal volunteers of DLSA Srinagar.
The main objective of Legal Services Week is to communicate the availability of free legal aid services and empower individuals with the knowledge to access legal assistance when needed.
Speaking on the occasion, Secretary DLSA elaborated the concept of free Legal Aid Services and the Role of Legal Services authority and involved the law students in an interactive session.
Adv. Suhaila Ali, a resource person, highlighted the crucial role of free legal aid services and the NALSA helpline number 15100 in promoting justice for vulnerable sections of society.
During the program, law students actively engaged with the topics presented, highlighting their commitment to understanding and promoting legal aid.
