DLSA Ganderbal conducts awareness campaign
Ganderbal, Nov 25: The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Ganderbal today conducted a day-long door-to-door legal awareness campaign in the district pursuant to the recommendations of the Department-Related Parliamentary Standing Committee on Personnel, Public Grievance, Law and Justice.
The campaign was held under the supervision of Abdul Nasir, Chairman, DLSA (Pr District & Sessions Judge), Ganderbal, and guidance of Sheikh Babar Hussain, Secretary DLSA Ganderbal.
The campaign aimed to educate citizens, in rural areas particularly weaker and marginalized sections of society about their fundamental rights, fundamental duties and directive principles of state policies and to spread legal awareness among citizens about the functions of Legal Services Institutions, working and role of Para Legal Volunteers (PLVs), and the modalities of applying for legal aid.
A team of dedicated Adhikaar Mitras (PLVs) of District Ganderbal carried out the campaign in District Ganderbal, particularly in Tulare and far flung areas making people aware of their constitutional rights and encouraging the citizens to participate in the democratic process.
The campaign also focused on educating people about their legal rights, duties, and entitlements under the Indian Constitution. Adhikaar Mitras (PLVs) conducted the campaign in several backward and far flung villages, including Urpash, Surfraw, Kondbal, Sehpora, Arhama, and Anderwan, among others.
The campaign aimed to educate the people about their legal rights and empower them with legal knowledge.
The initiative is part of the National Legal Services Authority’s efforts to promote legal awareness and empowerment among citizens, especially under privileged and marginalized sections.
