DL suspended for rash driving inside Chenani-Nashri Tunnel

Ramban, Jun 3: Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) Kishtwar have suspended the driving license of a man for reckless and dangerous driving inside the Chenani-Nashri Tunnel on Tuesday. ARTO Kishtwar Tasleem Javaid ordered the suspension of driving license issued to Esar Asif, son of Asif Iqbal Khaja a resident of Tund, Kishtwar following a viral video showing him overtaking from the wrong side and endangering passenger safety on June 2.

ARTO stated that his office has received a complaint via social media and a video has gone viral of the vehicle for dangerous driving and  over speeding.

As per the powers conferred upon ARTO Kishtwar, under Section-19(1)8(f) of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 with Rule 21 of Central Motor Vehicles Rules1989 suspended driving license No. JK17 20230000894 under Section -19(1)(d) &(f) of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 and the relevant rules made there under for a period of three (3) months. Further MV Act violator is directed to deposit his Driving License in the office of ARTO Kishtwar immediately.
