Diwali arrangements discussed

Udhampur, Nov 6: In preparation for the upcoming celebration of Diwali, the festival of lights, Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur, Saloni Rai  today chaired a meeting of line departments here in the Conference Hall of DC Office.

Threadbare discussions were held on various arrangements including the installation of firecracker sale stalls, security arrangements, traffic regulation, drinking water supply, power supply, sanitation, quality and price and quality checking of eatables and the deployment of fire tenders.

It was decided that a joint inspection of the market would be conducted by officers from the Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Municipality, Legal Metrology, and Revenue departments to monitor the rates and quality of products, particularly sweets, eatables and fruit items during the festive days. Subash Stadium was selected as the venue for selling firecrackers.
