Distt panels for implementing Mission Amrit Sarovar reconstituted
Jammu, Nov 4: J&K Govt has reconstituted District Level Committees for effective implementation and coordination of the Mission Amrit Sarovar.
These have been reconstituted in supersession of Govt Order No 603-JK(GAD) of 2022 dated May 23, 2022.
These panels will have Deputy Commissioner as Chairperson while Assistant Commissioner Development will be the Convener.
Chief Executive Officer of concerned Development Authority or AD Tourism; Assistant Commissioner Revenue; Assistant Commissioner Panchayat will be its members.
Other members include Superintending Engineer or Executive Engineer, Jal Shakti; Executive Engineer, Rural Engineering Wing (REW) and Divisional Forest Officer DFO. Besides any other member(s) as may be co-opted by the Chairperson.
As per the terms of reference, these panels will oversee proper maintenance and cleanliness, usage, treatment of catchment areas of water bodies developed or constructed under Mission Amrit Sarovar Phase-I, with active involvement of local village communities.
They will also finalize Amrit Sarovar Sites for Phase-Il; implement Mission and ensure its time bound completion; prepare Detailed Project Report (DPR) and earmark sources of funding; ensure coordination among participating district-level line departments and nominate Panchayat-leveI officer for each Amrit Sarovar site.
These panels have also been tasked to conduct monthly review of the progress of the Mission and apprise the Union Territory level Committee and State Nodal Officer (SNO); document the achievements and outcomes of the Mission and ensure resolution of grievances and troubleshooting.
