Shopian, Nov 6: The absence of a CT scan facility at District Hospital Shopian (DHS) is taking a toll on patient care.
The patients from the area have to travel to other districts, resulting in substantial delays in their medical check-ups and treatment.

A patient said that recently a doctor had advised his son to get a CT scan. He had no choice but to visit a private clinic in Srinagar to get him scanned.

“It significantly enhanced the treatment cost,” he said.
This ordeal highlights the unnecessary burden placed on patients and their families due to the unavailability of such crucial scans at the local level.

Bashir Ahmad, another patient, shared more or less a similar story of inconvenience. He recounted having travelled to SMHS Hospital recently to undergo a CT scan, underscoring the recurring hardships faced by patients in the area.
