District Athletics Championship 2023 concludes in Budgam

Budgam, Dec 30: The District Budgam Athletics Championship 2023 came to a thrilling conclusion on Friday after two days of intense competition.

The event, which kicked off on December 28, witnessed the participation of 117 talented athletes from Budgam district, encompassing boys and girls across various age categories, including U14, U16, U18, U20, and the open category.

The Chief Guest for the closing ceremony was Dr Muhammad Akbar Khan, a distinguished member of the Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council. Dr Khan not only graced the occasion but also had the honour of distributing prizes among deserving position holders, recognising their outstanding performances.

The organising committee, led by the District Budgam Athletics Association under the aegis of the J&K Amateur Athletics Association, collaborated seamlessly with the Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council to ensure the championship's success. The collaborative efforts reflected in the smooth execution of the event, providing a platform for athletes to showcase their skills and sportsmanship.

Expressing gratitude, Nazir Ahmad Mir, the General Secretary of the District Budgam Association, extended his thanks to all the participants for their enthusiastic involvement. He pledged to continue organising such sporting events in the future, emphasising the association's commitment to fostering athletic talent within the district.
