Disrespect to our dignity not acceptable to us: Tarigami
On Thursday afternoon, the quaint village of Nillow, some six kms from south
Kashmir's Kulgam district reverberated with the slogans as hundreds of CPI(M)
supporters carrying red flags adorned with hammer and sickle symbol gathered in the
village.
The slogans grew shriller as the veteran CPI( M) leader and four-time legislator from
Kulgam Mohamamd Yousuf Tarigami stood up to speak behind a wooden lectern
wrapped in a red piece of cloth.
"We are here fighting against each other and it (the current dispensation) has decided to demolish
our identity," he said. With his speech interspersed by the occasional clapping by an enthusiastic audience, Tarigami said that Kashmiris were represented in a bad light across the country.
This is the first mega rally organised by the party since the Lok Sabha polls were
announced.
