In his keynote address, Dr Raj Nehru spoke passionately about the motivation behind writing 'I Am Shiva.' He explained that the book emerged from a personal quest — an existential inquiry to understand "Who am I?" The search for this answer led him to the philosophy of Pratibijya, which emphasizes self-recognition and the unveiling of one’s true self. “The book guides readers through various stages of self-realisation, from transactional consciousness (centered on everyday desires and needs) to transformational consciousness (focused on self-growth and higher awareness) and finally transcendental consciousness, which transcends individual desires to connect with the universal mind,” he said.

Dr Nehru further elaborated on how I Am Shiva is not limited to any specific religious discourse but is instead a universal exploration of human potential.

The book also delves into the profound teachings of Lal Ded (Lalleshwari) through her Lal Vakhs, unraveling their significance in modern times.

Addressing the gathering, Kiran Wattal commended the book, calling it "a timely and much-needed exploration of self-awareness." He remarked that the youth, in particular, would benefit from its teachings, which empower individuals to go beyond the mundane and discover their deeper purpose.

Sandeep Mawa, in his speech, emphasised the book’s relevance in today’s chaotic world. Dr. Mushtaq Bhat praised Dr. Nehru’s ability to simplify profound concepts, stating that "I Am Shiva opens a gateway for all readers, regardless of background, to explore the nature of reality and their place within it."

The event concluded with an interactive session where students and teachers posed insightful questions to Dr. Nehru, further expanding on the themes of the book. The overwhelming response from the audience was a testament to the powerful resonance of the book's message, especially among the youth of Kashmir.
