Disappointing that LG made no mention of releasing prisoners: Altaf Bukhari
Srinagar, Nov 4: Apni Party chief Altaf Bukhari Monday said, he was disappointed by Lieutenant Governor's address to the legislative assembly wherein the LG made no mention of releasing Kashmiri prisoners.
Bukhari said, despite this being a key demand and aspiration of the people, LG didn't mention it.
Bukhari said, people have played a "significant role in fostering a peaceful environment here over the past five years and participated enthusiastically in the recent assembly polls."
In a democracy, it is imperative that the voices of the people are heard, and their demands met, Bukhari wrote on his official X-handle.
The detainees, especially the youth deserve to be released and given the chance to rebuild their lives with their families, he wrote.
