Disallowed to attend public rally scheduled for tomorrow: Tarigami
Srinagar, May 11: Communist Party India (M) leader M Y Tarigami on Saturday alleged that he and his party members are being disallowed to attend a rally scheduled for tomorrow in Reban Zainapora area of south Kashmir's Shopian.
He said that he has received reports of political workers being detained, which he said are attempts to manipulate the elections.
"Disallowed by police to visit Reban Zainapora, where a public meeting was scheduled for tomorrow. Additionally, disturbing reports about arbitrary detentions of political workers are circulating, suggesting deliberate attempts to manipulate the elections," Tarigami wrote on X.
He said, "it is imperative for people of all shades of opinion to unite in defence of the electoral rights of people. Requesting Election Commission of India to intervene."
