Director Sericulture reviews Jammu division schemes

Jammu, Sep 25: Director Sericulture J&K, Ajaz Ahmad Bhat today chaired a comprehensive review meeting in Jammu to assess the progress of various schemes, developmental projects, and initiatives being implemented by the Department in Jammu Division.

Bhat highlighted the need to expand sericulture activities by ensuring abundant mulberry foliage for silkworm rearers. He stressed that proper management of mulberry plantations would significantly boost silkworm seed and cocoon production across the region.

The Director also called for the timely completion of all Capex-funded construction works with strict adherence to quality standards. He emphasized that benefits under centrally sponsored schemes such as Silk Samagra and the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) should directly reach intended beneficiaries, ensuring the objectives of these initiatives are fully realized.
